A bit about me….

Tënä  koe / Welcome to you

“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides & from beginning to end, the ‘significant events’ of our lives shape each hour, day and year……”

How lucky am I to love my job with such passion and be blessed in the role of your Celebrant! It is a wonderful privilege and honour working in partnership with individuals, couples, families & community groups as their facilitator and support person. I have a “holistic” approach that includes “PARTNERSHIP, LOVE, LIGHT & LAUGHTER” being on board connecting with you, with the ability to put you at ease by listening to you about “what you want & what you don’t want” and how I can make that happen for you! Encouraging you to place your trust in me while journeying together as I help guide you in preparing, creating & writing your “Unique Ceremony with Everlasting Memories” in your words / your way ~ Words with Soul.

Whether you are planning your marriage / same sex; elopement; renewal of vows; naming ceremony; blessing or funeral, all of these significant life events are filled with varied emotions and the importance of creating beautiful, everlasting memories. These can be traditional; contemporary; simple & relaxed, themed & all uniquely detailed. Therefore choosing the right Celebrant for ‘you’ is extremely important, you’ve got to have that connection! I choose to only officiate one ceremony per day, therefore you can be rest assured in my full commitment and ‘attention to detail’ regarding your ceremony, delivered with full professionalism.

To compliment my business I have a “Ceremony Sound System & Decoration (Hire by Koha) Service. I will happily dress & undress Ceremony Venue if required. I am based in Christchurch but do travel extensively throughout Aotearoa officiating Ceremonies.

I embrace my Mäori Culture (as I do with all Cultures) and will deliver a ceremony when requested in Te Reo Mäori & English and be willing to give any other language a go too, how lovely would it be to share your vows in your native tongue! For me, experiencing the “diversity” of Cultural, Spiritual & Social belief systems & practices is a privilege and I encourage individuals to bring this “essence” of themselves into their ceremonies in the form of traditions & rituals. If an interpreter is required, this can be arranged.

With a varied and interesting background; I have worked & travelled with people from all walks of life. I have gained both wisdom & experience as a professional working in the Hospitality Industry; Diploma in Counselling; Diploma in Te Reo Mäori; Diploma in Registered Nursing; Diploma in Registered Midwifery, Celebrant Certificate formally trained through the Celebrant School of New Zealand.  Plus bringing with me many & varied life skills that I feel can only be of asset in my profession as a Registered Independent / Civil Union Celebrant. I am proud to be a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand, and the Membership/Professional Development Director on the  Canterbury CANZ Branch. Membership provides Celebrants with a Code of Ethics to practice by, Professional Accountability & Ongoing Professional Development. I guess you could say…..

“I am the Celebrant that truly can MATCH, HATCH & DISPATCH

Like a breath of fresh air; I am a young at heart, down to earth, family orientated, well centred person with a ‘wicked’ sense of humour, which I think is a must in any given ceremony! I love the challenge of creating “Bespoke Ceremonies” that are Unique &  “Outside the Box” blending both the Traditional with Contemporary.

Many have said that they have appreciated my ability to keep things real, honest & client-focused, no matter what type of ceremony I am officiating and at the same time bringing with this, a real  sense of calm

“When someone else’s happiness is your happiness that is Love”

Feel encouraged to contact me, I would love to meet over a coffee for a no obligation consultation.

In love & light Tania
